GMail™ is a free and excellent web-based
email service from Google. If
your web vendors will not send a copy of
your leads to a secondary address (your
LeadPhone™ email address), you can use a
GMail™ account to do the job. There
are several steps to follow, but it is easy
to do, and need only be done once.
- Sign up for your free GMail™
account
- Set GMail™ to forward all mail
to your regular email address
- Set GMail™ to send a copy of all
leads to your LeadPhone™
email address
- Advise your
various web vendors to start sending
your leads to your new GMail™
address
 |
Step 1 > Sign Up for Your Free
GMail™ Account |
|
 |
Step 2 > Set GMail™ to Forward
All Mail to Your Regular Email
Address |
|
This
will cause every piece of mail received
at your new GMail™ address to
automatically and instantly be forwarded
to your real email address -- the one
you are using today. This ensures
that you continue to receive all of your
emails exactly as you are receiving them
now.

-
Then click the button
that says "Forward a copy of incoming
mail to _________ ..." and enter your
CURRENT regular email address (not
your LeadPhone™ address) into the box.
-
Click the "Save
Changes" button at the bottom of the
form.
 |
Step 3 > Set GMail™ to send a
Copy of All Leads to Your
LeadPhone™ Email Address |
|
This will allow you
to decide which lead sources you want to
forward to your LeadPhone™
address for instant cell phone
notification. You will create
"filters" to select the appropriate
leads, and instruct GMail to forward
lead emails from those sources to your LeadPhone™
email address.
-
Log
into your GMail account and click the
"Settings" link. Then, click the
tab that says "Filters."
-
Click
"Create a new filter" at the bottom of
the box

-
In the "Create a Filter"
box, enter in sufficient information in
one or more of the fields to properly
identify an incoming email as being a
lead you want to be called on by
LeadPhone. In the example below,
if leads from your personal website
arrive with a "From" address of
"leads@JaneAgent.com" then you could put
that address in the "From" field.
You can use any or all of the available
filter fields (From, To, Subject, Has
the words, Doesn't have the words) to
fine tune the filter.
-
Click "Next Step" to
continue

-
GMail will then ask you
to choose an action for all leads that
match the filter you just created.
-
Check the box which says
"Forward it to: _____" and enter your
LeadPhone™ email address (usually looks
like First.Last@LeadPhone.com). If
you are not sure of your LeadPhone™ email
address, you can find it by logging into
LeadPhone™ and clicking the "Settings"
page.
-
Click "Create Filter" to
finish the process
-
Repeat this process for
any other filters you wish to create.
GMail lets you have up to 20 filters.

 |
Step 4 > Notify Your Web Vendors
to Send All Leads to Your GMail™
Address |
|
-
Contact each of
your lead sources (like REALTOR.com,
company website, franchise site,
etc.), and ask them to
start sending all of your leads to
your Gmail address, instead of your
regular email address. The
leads will automatically be
forwarded by GMail to your regular
address, and to LeadPhone, if they
match one of your filters.
-
Whew! All
done!

Tip! |
|
GMail™
is a terrific web-based email service.
It makes a good backup service in case your
normal email goes down, and it has very good
SPAM filtering capabilities, too.
And the price is
right!
